Steven Perrilloux

Perrilloux of Reserve grew up like many young men - attending Leon Godchaux High School and playing drums in the band.  However, in 1980 when visions knocked him sideways and into the new direction mandated by God.

The new direction has produced a hit gospel music CD.

"I was called to the ministry supernaturally," he said in a recent interview.  On July 5, 1980, he had a vision of a powerful light in the sky.  The second vision, later that year, was a vision of Jesus, filled with God's glory.  The third was a gigantic vision of the smiling face of Jesus, during which Perrilloux was told to take the gifts he had received and share them with the world.

Perrilloux quoted Acts 7:55 to describe his vision -"But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God."

"I believe God was catching my attention," he said.

Perrilloux, already gifted with his musical talents, was provided with the message to convey with that gift.  The result, so far, is "Only You," a new gospel CD which has rocketed to the top of the gospel independent chart in "Gospel USA" magazine.

Perrilloux was ordained at Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles in 1993 and moved back to his hometown, where he established Riverlands Christian Center Church.

"Only you" is filled with movement, excitement and the joy of Christ-filled life.  Perrilloux, who has been married to Rita Perrilloux for 22 years, travels internationally, including Brazil, Switzerland and African, to share his vision.

His next music CD, in fact, is to be called "Vision," and is likewise to be filled with the smooth, soulful messages delivered to Perrilloux and passed along to his listeners.

"If people know my past, they know I'm the last person they'd expect to be doing this," he said.

"Only you" is available at music stores.  Perrilloux says his burden is to reach all mankind with his music and God's message, with consolation, guidance and wisdom through the Word of God.
